Marketing Coordinator

As industry thought leaders in the areas of adult education and user adoption of legal technology, Traveling Coaches has an aggressive marketing plan that requires a diverse set of skills and talents from the company’s Marketing Coordinator role. The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of Market Strategies, and is responsible for the drafting, designing and coordination of all marketing communication and event marketing efforts. Gaining strategic direction from the Director of Market Strategies, the Marketing Coordinator executes on the marketing plan throughout the year, managing multiple objectives, projects and tasks simultaneously. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, self-assertiveness to meet deadlines, excellent organization and planning skills and strong communication skills for both internal and client-facing communication pieces.

 

Core Competencies/Requirements:
• Copywriting skills: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for copywriting ads, marketing collateral, website content, email campaigns, event invitations, speaking and writing association pitches and press releases.


• Editing skills: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for editing and publishing weekly blog posts, semi-weekly Twitter updates, monthly newsletters and industry articles/white papers. The Marketing Coordinator runs bi-weekly task force meetings where content and topics are brainstormed and assigned to volunteer writers. The Marketing Coordinator manages the editorial calendar and is ultimately accountable for the quality and timeliness of all publications, which require excellent creative thinking, deadline management and proofreading skills.


• Design skills: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for all graphic elements of the Traveling Coaches brand, including the company web site, marketing collateral, multimedia and print ads, HTML email campaigns, promotional materials, signage, tradeshow materials and other items as needed. Ideally, the Marketing Coordinator will have technical skills in graphic design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, and web design programs, such as Dreamweaver, however the most necessary of skills is an eye for layout, design, color and staying true to the company brand.


• Coordination skills: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for managing many objectives and deadlines simultaneously and must have exemplary coordination and time management skills. The Marketing Coordinator will coordinate the logistics of multiple tradeshows per year, national and regional industry presentations, new product or service launches, community service projects and other special initiatives, such as a company website refresh project. As part of the marketing coordination process, the Marketing Coordinator must consistently and thoroughly communicate marketing plans, progress and deadline risks to management.
 

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar position within Marketing
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Marketing, Journalism or Communications
• Excellent writing, organization and communication skills
• Experience with social media for business use
• Ability to work in downtown Dallas 5 days/week
• Ability to travel on a minimal basis
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe products
• Ability to work 40+ hour work week

 

Additional Preferences:
• Graphic design skills
• Web HTML and Web 2.0 development skills
• Experience working with or for law firms
• Experience working with or for a technology services provider
• Passionate about technology, education and gaining user buy-in

To qualify, you must have…

• 3+ years successfully selling conceptual services and products to C-level executives
• Consistently closed over $1MM in annual revenue
• Strategies to identify and get in front of prospects
• Superior qualification and closing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience developing and managing a pipeline of business sufficient to reach goals
• Created strong relationships at multiple levels of large organizations
 

Additionally, you must be…
• A great presenter who is expert at dazzling large groups of executives
• Willing to proactively seek out new business opportunities
• Comfortable selling IT services that total more than $250K per project
• Able to report weekly and accurately forecast sales with cycles of 6 months or longer
• Willing to travel 5-10 days per month
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
 

Other preferences include…
• Experience selling IT services or products to law firms
• Familiarity with document management systems or Microsoft Office add-ins
• College degree
