Desktop Application Specialist

Job Summary:

Traveling Coaches currently seeks a Desktop Application Specialist to join our company. This position is responsible for providing application consulting, installation, configuration, customization, deployment and support on law firm client projects.

Responsibilities:

The Desktop Application Specialist will demonstrate proficiency on a majority of the applications and skill sets listed below.

Applications:

Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 7
Microsoft Office (2003, 2007 and 2010)
Macro Packages such as Litéra Innova, Esquire iCreate, Legal MacPac, Payne Forms Assistant
Metadata Tools such as Workshare Protect, Esquire iScrub, Payne Metatools
Comparison Tools – Workshare Compare, Esquire iRedline, ChangePro
Document Management Systems – Autonomy, Open Text, NetDocuments, Aderant StarLaw and others (not required)

Skill Set:

Microsoft Office (XP, 2003, 2007) Skills –Knowledge in the following:

Installation and Configuration of Microsoft Office
Expert in Using Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel. Specific emphasis in Word template creation, use of Word styles and formatting
Experience in creating templates, writing VBA automation and XML Ribbon customization

Knowledge of various application deployment methods (imaging, deployment packaging, Microsoft Office Customization Toolkit)
Familiarity with installing applications both on the desktop and on the network. Conversant in permissions and installation rights
Communication & Consulting Skills – ability to professionally communicate with clients both verbally and written. Ability to analyze client needs, devise and implement an application plan to best meet the client’s needs and goals
Work as a team, as well as independently
Quick, self-paced learner with the ability to review new and updated applications and master installation and configuration
Technical Troubleshooting Skills – ability to troubleshoot technical issues with software applications, as well as, ability to communicate and document issues about troubleshooting steps to software vendors
Ability to train at the technical level
VBA (specifically Word VBA) familiarity
XML (specifically for Word 2007 and 2010)
Ability to travel – travel is a must
Legal Industry Experience required

Project Manager

Job Summary:

Traveling Coaches seeks a dynamic, results-driven Project Manager with extensive experience working in the legal industry. The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and potentially third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Principal Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
Facilitate strategic discussions and deliver targeted business objectives of projects.
Work with business users and subject matter experts to gather requirements through interviews, focus groups, and other information-gathering methods.
Develop detailed business user requirements, system documentation and workflow procedures.
Possess strong understanding in the areas of Microsoft Office and document management systems as they relate to the legal industry.
Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identify and secure appropriate project resources.
Work with all project stakeholders, process owners, application and data architects, testers, developers, etc., in support of the project deliverables.
Define, develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans, and other QA assessments.
Facilitate regular project status meetings, document meeting minutes and follow-up on all action items as required.
Facilitate and obtain timely review and signoff on all deliverables.
Facilitate project transitions and lessons learned discussions.
Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application to client engagements.
Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years in Project Management or IT Management.
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.
Law firm experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within budget.
Demonstrated self-starter, highly motivated, with a successful track record of being able to work without direct supervision.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Track record of effectively managing conflict, resolving issues, mitigating risks and influencing senior leaders.
Travel up to 25% of each month.

Communications Consultant

Job Summary:

Traveling Coaches is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Communications Consultant to join our growing team of user adoption and change management consultants. We work with some of the largest and most complex law firms in the world, providing strategic consulting around user adoption of new technology. The Communications Consultant will work with law firm IT departments and project teams to create a project communications plan and craft compelling messages that support Traveling Coaches methodology for change management and user adoption of Office 2010 and other new workflows and technologies.

Skills and qualities for success:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Confident and polished in executive presentations and meeting facilitation

• Experience building out a communications plan for a large-scale IT deployment

• Skilled at gaining buy-in from all types of technology users in law firms

• Experience with law firm MS Office deployments

• Solid understanding of law firm politics and legal user needs and behaviors

• Experience in using SharePoint for project communications elements

• Creative thought process and marketing/sales-oriented

• Energetic, enthusiastic and professional

• Eager and able to travel
