Hunton and Williams Purchases Traveling Coaches’ CLASS and CLASSe
April 29, 2011, DALLAS, TX - Traveling Coaches, the nationally recognized training, application integration and consulting partner to law firms and corporate legal departments, today announced that Richmond-based Hunton & Williams, LLP has purchased Traveling Coaches’ CLASS and CLASSe content for the Firm’s on-going technology training program.
Traveling Coaches’ industry-leading CLASS (Continued Learning and Software Skills) program is a collection of modular, legal-specific and customizable technology training materials. Since its introduction six years ago, the popular CLASS program has been implemented by over 200 law firms and corporate legal departments consisting of more than 98,000 users. As CLASS provides the materials for traditional classroom instruction, CLASSe facilitates a different style of training: just-in-time eLearning. A collection of short, interactive, online lessons called CLASSe Briefs, this program is ideal for busy attorneys and staff that need to learn how to accomplish specific tasks “on the fly.”
“Training Human Resources at Hunton & Williams are highly valued to provide team and personal coaching, as well as delivering classroom hands-on training", said Ana Schuett, Practice Technology Support Manager for Hunton & Williams. “We purchased Traveling Coaches’ CLASS content to relieve our training staff from creating documentation, allowing them to spend more face-to-face time with our lawyers and staff. However, we know that a multiple delivery approach must be used in order to provide effective skills training and awareness. In the past, we created our own online demos and training content, but this was a very time consuming task, and our focus on ‘personal training’ did not allow much time for development of online courseware. Feedback from many of our lawyers was very positive when we created and distributed online content. The ‘just-in-time’ nature of this content allowed our busy lawyers and staff to review or learn new skills when they need them, but the time required to create it was prohibitive. CLASSe will allow us to deliver extensive legal-specific online content via our Learning Management System. We will be able to create learning tracks for our lawyers and staff, blending on-demand online, personal and classroom training. The ability to test their skills will enable us to determine who may require further ‘high touch’ coaching, ensuring the critical skills they need to get their job done are achieved. With CLASSe we will expand our technology learning offerings to address the growing demand for training…when I need it”.
CLASS currently consists of 289 classroom modules and CLASSe includes over 1,700 eLearning lessons, both products covering topics from Microsoft Office applications to document management systems and Word productivity tools. The materials are customizable and designed to be used for university-style training programs. CLASSe Briefs are drawn from CLASS curriculum and offer the same high level of quality and consistency. By purchasing both products, Hunton & Williams will provide end-users with a consistent training message through the instructor, reference materials and eLearning lessons.
