Training Products and Related Services Recognizing that training needs differ from client to client and project to project, Traveling Coaches has developed a virtual catalog of training products designed to meet those varying needs. These products target specific audiences, offer a variety of formats, and serve to meet specific requirements before or after the core training. These training formats allow our clients to tailor not only the content of their training program, but the format in which it is presented based on audience, timing and other factors. The following products are listed "chronologically," as they would typically be offered throughout an extensive training program. WOW! Sessions These hands-off events are designed to "sell the technology" to your user community prior to implementation. Change is often met with apprehension, and these demonstrations are designed specifically to alleviate apprehension. Seeing the product and its capabilities in action, your staff will look forward to working with their new technology. Marketing Campaigns The first step in any effective training program is to get your users to the classroom. However, with the extra duties already resulting from a technology upgrade or conversion, precious little time remains for you to organize activities that will generate excitement and effectively inform your staff about the training opportunities available to them. Designed to pump up enthusiasm for training, the Traveling Coaches Marketing Campaign is a services package that provides the means to cleverly and effectively communicate training content and schedules. This campaign can include:
End-User Classroom Training The backbone of our training system, End-User Classroom Training is hands-on and concentrated. Our goal is to bridge the gap between what your end-users currently know and what they need to know. Therefore, the curriculum and its delivery are designed to address the types of issues that your users will face in the legal environment. Attorney Classes We understand how difficult it is to get attorneys to take time out of their schedules to attend training. Our attorney briefing sessions are therefore short, modular programs designed with their specific needs in mind. These sessions focus on the essential features and tasks that attorneys need to know when they sit down at their computer. Attorney classes are often scheduled after-hours, that is evenings and/or weekends, to allow and encourage greater attorney participation. Curriculum and Reference Materials Traveling Coaches offers generic or customized training guides and quick reference cards. You choose between individual hard copies or a site license delivered in soft copy that you can reproduce in any quantity for internal training now and in the future. Curriculum is modular so that it can be tailored to a particular audience. CLASS™ (Continued Learning and Software Skills) While most firms recognize the need for continuing education, few have the resources to design and construct the enormous curriculum. Based on years of experience educating law firms all over the country, CLASS™ is a legal-specific, hands-on training program designed to teach legal users how to get the most out of desktop tools. Topics are condensed to short modules which allows for maximum scheduling flexibility. All modules maintain a consistent look and feel and share the same writing style. The Train-the-Trainer program ensures your internal training resources understand the materials and deliver the courses in a consistent fashion. CLASS™ is delivered to you on a CD in Microsoft Word format. Each module is fully customizable. You can develop a university-like approach scheduling different modules at different times, or you may choose to combine modules for new hire or rollout training. CLASS™ is a site license so you are free to reproduce the materials as often and for as many firm employees as you like. UniversitySite To complement the CLASS™ training program, UniversitySite is the first application designed specifically to organize and facilitate the management of a continuing education program. UniversitySite manages the course catalog, training schedules, registration and standby lists, training goals, resource allocation and management reporting. UniversitySite also tracks attendance and credit hours for both single and multi-day training courses, while managing course naming conventions and prerequisites. Using an Internet browser, users can access UniversitySite to register for classes, request additional training topics, view their progress toward training goals and even print their own certificates of completion. UniversitySite offers enormous flexibility and ease of use, especially for firms with multiple locations. The browser-based architecture has numerous advantages including global accessibility and the ability to scale to support large numbers of users. UniversitySite is simple to implement and maintain because users access the application via a web browser, eliminating the need to load executable software on the desktop. LEAP™ (Legal Education Action Plan) Leverage Traveling Coaches’ years of law firm education experience to develop a customized technology education plan. LEAP™ employs a structured approach to identify core competencies, assess current skills, develop learning plans, and present findings to management. LEAP™ can be used to encourage adherence to best practices or to evaluate new-hires and lateral moves. LEAP™ can be a stand-alone project or incorporated into a continuing education program such as CLASS™. Desk-Side Coaching (Floor Support) Once formal classroom training is complete, our Coaches walk the floor to answer questions, demonstrate specific application functions, and provide one-on-one application support as needed. This support is especially useful during the first few days following implementation when your staff must use their new technology to get their job done and meet the normal day-to-day deadlines. HITS Sessions (aka Lunch and Learn Sessions) As part of a continuing education program, these training tools cover practical Hints, Information, Tips and Shortcuts. The HITS Sessions are usually conducted after your users have become somewhat comfortable within their new technology environment, but need more advanced training in order to fully utilize its capabilities. It is recommended that the staff provide feedback as to the specific features on which they need additional training, and the HITS Sessions are customized in advance to meet those needs. These hands-off sessions cover a lot of information in a short amount of time and are typically scheduled during the lunch hour, thus the pseudonym, "Lunch and Learn." Interwoven Certified Technical Training Traveling Coaches is the first partner in the country to become an Interwoven Authorized Training Center and offer the Interwoven Certified Administrative Specialist (ICAS) and Interwoven Train-the-Trainer (TTT) courses. The courses are regularly held in our Dallas training facility or if you prefer, we can bring the certified training to your location. SoftWise Technical Training Traveling Coaches is one of only three SoftWise Authorized Training Centers in the United States. The 4-day Innova Administrator Course is taught in our Dallas office. Survival Skills for the Administrator Our unique Survival Skills training is designed to empower your Administrator with the ability to manage your system. Conducted in your environment, participants learn how to customize the software. "Survival Skills" provide the Administrator with the understanding and confidence to make informed decisions about customization issues and to perform day-to-day operations necessary for exceptional support and maintenance of your technology. Project Management Training Traveling Coaches has developed a Project Management course specifically for law firm IT project managers. This course covers project management fundamentals and best practices for the development and maintenance of an effective project management office. Students have the opportunity to work with tools such as Project Definition Documents, Work Breakdown Structures, Issue Management and Change Management Procedures, Risk Assessments, Status Reports and more. IT and Help Desk Working Sessions Because it is the IT and Help Desk staff to which the end-users turn for support, these key positions must be confident with the technology and prepared to meet high expectations. They must know the applications better so they can render the support for which they are called upon to provide. With those goals in mind, Traveling Coachesoffers training tailored to prepare your IT staff for their role in your new environment. Train-the-Trainer Whether you have designated trainers on staff, or utilize the talents of your power users, our Train-the-Trainer classes cover the ins and outs of training in general, including adult learning theories and strategies that should be implemented in every classroom. This valuable class also includes how to deliver a specific technology to your staff, guidance on documentation and troubleshooting methods. Macro and Template Training Standardized templates and macros offer quick return on your technology investment. These customized tools allow end-users to immediately work more efficiently and effectively. An added benefit to implementing firm-wide macros and templates is the resulting consistency in the firm’s work product. We provide the training your IT staff needs to create the firm’s macros and templates, guiding them in the right direction and alerting them to common mistakes. This training offers the payoff of saving weeks of “trial and error” time. Conversion Services A large-scale technology conversion can often overextend a firm’s existing human resources. Traveling Coaches can expand your resources on an as-needed basis to perform those tasks that may be required as a result of a conversion or upgrade. Such spin-off tasks may include:
