Hotshot, the learning platform for lawyers, has partnered with Traveling Coaches, the legal industry’s foremost provider of learning and change management services. Under the collaboration, Traveling Coaches will deliver Hotshot’s experiential generative AI workshops, helping law firms provide hands-on AI training at scale to lawyers and other legal professionals.

The partnership addresses a practical constraint firms face as AI moves into everyday practice. Lawyers learn to use AI by using it, and demand for experiential, learning-by-doing programs has grown accordingly. But few firms have the internal bandwidth to deliver that kind of training repeatedly, across practice groups, offices, and cohorts, on top of everything else their L&D and innovation teams are managing.

Hotshot’s generative AI workshops give lawyers structured practice on simulated matters before they apply AI to live client work, with sessions spanning M&A, litigation, business development, client communications, and other core areas. There are also programs for professional staff at law firms, as this type of training need isn’t limited to lawyers alone. Traveling Coaches trainers will be certified to facilitate those workshops both in person and virtually, drawing on the proven delivery model the company has refined with law firms since 1995.

Each engagement can be tailored to the firm running it. Workshops can incorporate a firm’s own AI platforms, policies, approved use cases, work product, and subject matter experts, so lawyers practice in the context of how their firm actually works rather than in the abstract. Firms can also pair Traveling Coaches facilitators with their own trainers and partners, using outside capacity where it helps and keeping the program firmly their own.

The workshops are also designed to sit inside a broader program rather than stand alone. Firms commonly pair them with Hotshot’s on-demand generative AI courses and its AI CLE tracks, using the on-demand content to build a shared foundation before a session so lawyers arrive ready to practice, and to reinforce and extend the skills afterward. Traveling Coaches can help firms sequence that arc across cohorts and practice groups.

The collaboration was driven by demand from firms themselves, which have consistently asked for ways to extend experiential AI training beyond their internal resources to cover more ground more quickly. Hotshot customers will be able to engage Traveling Coaches for anything from a single workshop to a multi-office rollout, with programs available immediately.
