The Path to ILTACON Success

Whether this is your first ILTACON or your 20th, how are you going to ensure this one is the best? With so many educational sessions to choose from, business partners to meet and networking opportunities to explore, it can be difficult to find your path to ILTACON success. Here are some tips to help, along with what Traveling Coaches has in store!

Education

There are usually over 200 educational sessions to choose from, which includes invigorating keynotes, interactive collaboration, in-depth panels, live demos and more. To make the most out of your time, it’s important to plan ahead. Resources you should access include:

  • The ILTACON website has role-specific roadmaps to help guide you, a session search that allows you to add sessions to your calendar, a list of Education Hub sessions led by business partners, and more

  • The ILTACON mobile app (search for ILTA Events in your app store) has great features for you to identify learning pathways, add sessions to your personalized schedule, etc.

You’ll take in a ton of valuable information throughout the day, so make sure you take advantage of break times to review your notes (and visit us in booth 500), grab a snack and get mentally prepared for your upcoming schedule.

Networking

You can begin networking now by following ILTA, your peers and business partners on social media. You can also join conversations on ILTA’s online Communities and directly in the ILTACON mobile app.

Once you’re onsite, the whirlwind begins. Here are some tips to help maximize your time and connections:

  • Bring plenty of business cards. You don’t want to run out!

  • Come ready to discuss issues and successes you’re experiencing. This will help you find the right peers and business partners to connect with.

  • Visit the Exhibit Hall! It can be overwhelming with over 200 booths (Traveling Coaches is in Booth 500), an Education Hub, a Startup Hub, snack breaks…so much great stuff. Whether you go in with a plan or just wander around, you’re sure to leave with valuable information and solution ideas!

  • Attend planned events - this is where you’ll build long-lasting relationships. ILTA’s networking events are a great place to start. Ask your peers and business partners what their evening plans are, and keep an eye out for email invitations and events that require RSVPs. ILTA members are welcome to RSVP for Traveling Coaches’ BOARDWALK BASH on Sunday, OnGuard client stories & demo Tuesday and LegalMind client stories & demo Wednesday!

  • Schedule must-have meetings before you get onsite. Once everyone is together, schedules fill up quickly, so you’ll want to make sure you already have important meetings on the books.

  • Get your headshot taken! If your LinkedIn profile image could use a boost, Traveling Coaches can help you take it from bland to grand with FREE headshots on Tuesday and Wednesday. Reserve a time (walk-ups also welcome).

Stay Comfortable

Have I mentioned that you should wear comfortable shoes? You’ll do a lot of walking through the hotels and to evening events, so it’s important to take care of your feet. Many people play the game of counting their steps throughout the week, which is another fun way to connect with peers. You can also try these ideas for making sure you stay comfortable:

  • Drink lots of water. I can’t stress this enough.

  • If you get cold easily, bring a sweater or jacket for those chilly session rooms.

  • Just in case there’s an event in the Orlando sunshine, packing some sunscreen is a good idea.

  • Bring other pamper items such as lip balm, aspirin, lotion, etc. This will help you be your best all week long!

We’re excited to see everyone in Orlando! Hopefully these tips will take you down the path to ILTACON success!
